We strongly condemn the bomb attack perpetrated today (20 February) in Somalia at a hotel where Friday Prayer was held and resulted in the death of many people including high-level officials and injury of several others.

We wish God's mercy on those who lost their lives, convey our condolences to their families and the brotherly people of Somalia and wish a speedy recovery to the wounded.

It is obvious that this vicious attack targeting at Somalia's future and peace has the intention to intimidate the people of Somalia in their quest for stability and development. Moreover, the occurrence of the attack during the Friday prayer revealed once more the reprehensible face of terror trampling on all sacred values.

Turkey will continue to give all kinds of support increasingly and decisively to the friendly and brotherly people of Somalia for the purpose of its attainment of peace and stability.
